Olympic Weightlifting

We offer coaching and programming for anyone wishing to participate or train in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting.

The gym is affiliated and approved by British Weightlifting and all our coaches have British Weightlifting certification.

Training in the sport of weightlifting is a great way to improve many of the key components of fitness that will improve the quality of your life outside the gym.

  • Strength

    Contrary to the public perception, weightlifting does not necessarily make you bulky. The rep ranges are usually small with the emphasis on getting strong not big.

    When combined with good nutrition, a weightlifter usually carries little body fat and has muscularity proportional to their body.

  • Flexibility

    To be a weightlifter you need to be flexible. Our weightlifting programme is designed to improve your flexibility and mobility.

  • Skill Development

    Mastering the Olympic lifts of the snatch and clean & jerk requires the learning proper movement patterns. This neurological process helps to keep the mind sharp for other life tasks.

  • Fun and inclusive

    Lifting weights is fun, it builds self esteem and cameraderie when training with friends. In general we have no age limits, taking kids as young as 5 and adults up to the age 70.
